School Nursing
School nurses support the health and wellbeing of children and young people across Hull and the East Riding. As part of that role, they can offer advice and support when something is affecting a young person’s emotional or mental wellbeing.
Young people can speak to a school nurse about things such as stress, sleep, relationships, worries, healthy lifestyles or anything else that may be affecting how they feel. School nurses can listen, offer practical advice and help young people understand where else they may be able to get support if they need it.

Our School Nurses run drop-in sessions across lunchtime in most East Riding secondary schools.
These sessions are advertised by schools and are completely confidential unless we have safeguarding concerns. They provide a listening ear to support young people with issues relating to their physical, social, emotional and sexual health, and they can also signpost them on to other specialist services when appropriate.
